Citadel Masonry welcomed JR to the team in September 2020. While he is one of our lead Superintendents, he truly is our Master Mason with over 48 years of experience. Originally starting his career in residential construction in 1970, he quickly transitioned into commercial construction with Phifer & Goodwin Inc in 1978. There he excelled and his masonry skills grew. Later in 1995, he started a career with East Carolina Masonry of Greenville, NC. He continued to build in the South Eastern region of North Carolina on a multitude of projects with the federal government and local municipalities.

Over these decades, he perfected his trade and sharpened his craftsmanship. Quality is his middle name, but safety is his priority. He is OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NCIC Equipment Safety Certified. Additionally, he holds certifications for Rough Terrain Forklifts, Scissor Lifts operator, Bio Waste Water Plant Operator.  He also is a Valco Scaffold Certified Installer/Operator, holds Competent Person Scaffold Training and NCIC Equipment Safety Certificates. A North Carolina native, he calls the Jacksonville area home. When not busy at work, you can find him and his wife enjoying time tending to his family farm.
